Our Products

Samples and labels are fully embedded and ready for study by Light Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy.

Sample and label are placed in this half capsule, pre-made from one of the 10 holes from the ARTmold100.

A) Polishing line limit.

B) Wall. Permits to locate simples at same distance from the surface.

C) Label.

4 STEPS TO FOLLOW

1.
2.

1. LABELING

Use standard 5 x 35 mm adhesive-backed label paper to write the sample ID code.

1.

2. SAMPLE PREP

Place the selected sample inside the Art.Cap1/2.

2.

Postition the sample to the top and center of the wall.

3.

Add a drop of cyanoacrylate adhesive to hold the sample in position.

1.

3. EMBEDDING

Prepare the Epoxy resin.

2.

Introduce the prepared ART.cap1/2 inside the full holes of the ART.mold. 100 and cover it with epoxy resin.

3.

Prepare more half capsules. It is possible to embed 12 samples and produced 12 half capsules with one epoxy resin preparation.

4. POLISHING

Hand polishing can be done in few minutes.

2.

Sample is ready to be observed under the microscope.

Why use ARTmold100?

DESIGN

ARTmold.100 was designed based on the sample size and documentation needs for heritage science conservation.

STANDARIZATION

Thanks to the half capsule ART.cap1/2 wall, samples are located at the same distance from the surface. This allows for polishing several samples at the same time.

SAVE POLISH ME

Samples are located at 3mm from the surface. Hand polishing can be done in few minutes.

GREEN FRIENDLY

Due to the small size of the capsules it is possible to save epoxy resin and prepare the amount needed to embed 4 samples and produce 4 other half capsules for future samples.

WORKSHOPS

We offer workshops on light microscopy sample preparation in academic conservation schools, museums and research institutions.

The theoretical and practical workshop designed by 4Heritage Conservation allows you to make the most of ARTmold100

For more information about these workshops, please contact us! We can design the workshop based on your audience and needs.
